Last month we asked students to submit essays and videos for our contests. We are very pleased to announce the winners of each of these categories.
And the winners are......
Annetta Hartman, a senior at Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School
Calista Leonard, a student at Pennsylvania Distance Learning Charter School.
Each of these students will receive a $500 scholarship to be presented at our Day on the Hill event on May 14th!
Congratulations Annetta and Calista!
Day on the Hill
The 7th Annual Day on the Hill is set for May 14th! We are very excited about this year's rally!
We need you to come to Harrisburg and lend your voice to let legislators know how much we love our schools! We need to have a large, collective voice to let legislators know that we want to protect our schools. This is the day that we can let them know just how important our schools are to our families and to ask legislators to protect our schools.
House bills 759, 617 and 618 are still in the House Education committee. These bills threaten to cut the funding for our schools drastically. The cuts are so severe that it would force our schools to close. That is why the Day on the Hill is so important this year. We need to share our stories with legislators. They hear from all of our opponents; now it is time the legislators heard from you!
The schedule for the Day on the Hill:
Plaza area on North Street 9:30 AM
(North Street - Behind State Museum)
Meet with Legislators 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Families March to Capitol 11:45 AM
(Meet at Check-in Area)
Rally and Press Conference, Awards
(Capitol Fountain) 12:00 PM
Families to meet with Legislators 12:30 – 4:00 PM
Please make plans to join us on Tuesday, May 14th! Come and help protect the schools that are providing a quality education for our children. We need you voice in Harrisburg!
We hope to see you in Harrisburg on May 14th!!
