The budget impasse continues in Harrisburg. It seems Governor Tom Wolf is unwilling to pass a budget to release funds for public schools and our public cyber schools. As the stalemate continues, our schools are suffering. On Friday, Agora Cyber Charter School was forced to lay off more than 100 staff members due to lack of funding.
It is time for our voices to be heard. We need to let Gov. Wolf know how important our schools are to our families. He also needs to know how wonderful the teachers at our public cyber schools are for our children. All of our schools are at threat of layoffs or worse!
Please call your legislators and Gov. Wolf today! They need to hear from you! We have had many threats to our schools and we always ask you to contact your legislators, but it is critical. Without funding, our public cyber schools could close!
If you don’t know who your legislators are, go to www.pacyberfamilies.org and scroll down to Links. Then click on find your legislator. On the left side of the page you will see “Find My Legislator”. Enter your information and it will bring up your legislator and how to contact them.
Also, call Gov. Wolf and share your stories! You can call his office at 717-787-2500 and you can email his office at https://governor.pa.gov/contact/
We also want to take a moment and announce we will be holding our 10th Annual Day on the Hill on May 17th in Harrisburg at the Capitol. Mark your calendars for May 17, 2016! Plan to be in Harrisburg to let your voice be heard!
Thank you all for everything you are doing to protect our public cyber schools! We need each of you to help give a face and a voice to protect the choice for our children!
