Dear families, The time is fast approaching for our cyber families "Day on the Hill" in Harrisburg! I hope you have made plans to attend the May 13 rally in the steps of the Capitol building. It is more important than ever that we have a strong showing of parents, students and supporters this year. It is school budget time, and it seems, it is also time to blame public cyber schools for budget woes and tax increases. It is also a sure sign that powerful bureaucracies like the Pennsylvania School Boards Association will continue to attack our schools and continue to push the anti-cyber school HB 446 with legislators in Harrisburg. Our most effective defense is to let our representatives know how vital public cyber schools are for our families. Few other things will get their attention than a large rally at the Capitol. WE NEED YOU! It just so happens that the PSBA's annual Harrisburg summit is scheduled the week after ours. Comparisons will be made, so consider it a personal challenge. I know the members of this coalition have more fight and dedication than a group of bureaucrats! Let's make sure they see and hear the difference! Please make plans now to attend. WE NEED YOU! The legitimacy and viability of our schools will be decided in the halls, offices and meeting rooms of the Capitol. Our schools need be recognized as a legitimate alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar schools. If not, they will be marginalized by severe funding cuts which will ultimately close them down. This is a critical time! WE NEED YOU! Please go to our website www.pacyberfamilies.org and register today. We need to know how many people are attending so we can make the proper arrangements. It will take just a minute to register. You can collect a free PA Families T-shirt for every member of your party when you arrive at the Capitol. See you in Harrisburg! Stay Energized!
