Dear Families, Wow! What a fabulous day it was in Harrisburg on Tuesday! I can not even begin to say how grateful I am to the hundreds of families and supporters of public cyber schools who came to our Day on the Hill to meet with their legislators and tell them how important our schools are! I would like to thank every single child, parent and grandparent who came; because every single person who made the commitment to come has helped to protect our schools! I would also like to thank the schools themselves for helping to bring their families to the rally. It was great to see the many brightly colored T-shirts flooding the Capitol. There is no doubt we were noticed by every single representative at the Capitol on Tuesday. With so many of us in their offices, how could we be missed! Many thanks to our friend and ally in Wisconsin, Rose Fernandez. Rose gave a terrific speech and is a wonderful ambassador for public cyber schools. Finally, I am extremely grateful to Reps. Bill DeWeese, Sam Rohrer, Barbara McIlvaine-Smith and Sen. Jeffrey Piccola for accepting the Cyber Leadership Award. Their support of public cyber education has been critical. I am so glad they are on our side! I wish I could say we can now catch our breath, but we need to stay vigilant. The Pennsylvania School Board Association is again pushing for action before the summer recess on the Beyer bill, which would drastically cut finding for public cyber schools. Keep in touch with your legislators. Build on the relationship to make sure they know how strongly you believe in your educational choice. We will keep you updated with any changing developments so you can be ready to respond! If you are not sure who your legislators are you can find them by going to: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/. Go to the upper-right corner, enter your zip code and follow the instructions. I am so proud of this coalition. Your commitment and passion for public cyber schools was on full display on Tuesday. I am very honored to be associated with such a group! Thank you all again for your efforts! Stay energized! Jenny Bradmon, president
